Victoryes Victorya

But first: Simone: Why you do this to me for?

I had also chosen Simone for my Fantasy PR Team and am now -7. What can I say, I liked her name and outfit in the pre-season interview. The fingerless gloves were OK... questionable because of their total lack of functionality ... sort of like her outfit in Episode 1. Where is this person going? I would have to guess a. to bed, b. the Limited 2, c. one of those children's books where you can rotate the top and bottom halves of a person to mix & match outfits.

In her exit interview, she's regretful but doesn't get why she's out. Good thing we are here to clear things up: Simone, your dress looks like lingerie for sad, confused people!

Oui ou non? Non.

Victorya and Chris March are my favorites so far, but I agree with Maud that CM's Ep. 1 outfit looks sort of like something Jasmine would wear on a date with Aladdin. A whole new world, but not so much a wondrous place for you and me.

The sad thing here is that it appears someone else was thinking of Jasmine. Seriously Carmen what is with those pants!? I have to agree with Hélène & Maud. The 90s were cool, great (miss it) but so over and let's be honest here pretty fugly 1990% of the time.

I want to like Sweet P, but her dress looks like a sack of potatoes! Worse, the kind of potatoes that are maybe fun for Thanksgiving, but aren't as good for us-- lots of simple sugars. I can maybe get behind a sack of sweet potatoes, but not this:
Non!

Victorya so far is numba one in my PR heart. It's clear she's a fighter. Let's just say if I were Keith from Season 3, I would not want Victorya as the investigative reporter on the case.
OUI!

Bloggers, this also is a competition for us as well.

My two favorite things to watch, reflect upon and subsequently discuss are project runway and professional football. Every fall I want to join a fantasy football league, but it always seems complicated...and fyi those things cost money, how rude. So imagine my excitement when I found out you could play fantasy project runway online FOR FREE!! Obviously, I signed up and informed Maud & Marthe tout de suite.

Well, I must confess, Team DanielVosovicShouldveWon did NOT fare well in week one. I mean, I picked Simone...ouch. So now that I am in 2618th place (out of 2619? probs.), I've decided to go back to the design table and make it work. This time, I took a good hard look at the scoring system. Originally I assumed that points were based purely on design success, mais non! Making it work does not always make you score. Voila:

Winning a Challenge: 6 Points
Verbal Fight (w/ another Designer): 4 Points

Crying: 3 Points

Wait...so...you're not supposed to pick the most talented designer...you're supposed to pick the most talented drama queen?! Welcome to the team, Christian! Let's hope that with this knowledge we all fare a lot better in week deux.

Other project runway-ness from this weekend:
Heidi has been fugged. She is all over gofugyourself in this heinous glittery number I don't even want to discuss. I would include a pic, but this blog is not a venue for butt-cleavage. Also, Jack and I are out of love. I just saw this pic of him with enormous awful tattoos on his elbows - ugh! Why, Jack, why? I haaaate giant tattoos in the first place, but on his elbows? What is that? Yuck. Anyway, I think we should just be friends now. I'm sad, but it's probably for the best since, ya know, he's pretty gay.

And with that, I shall leave you with a lovely 60 second recap of episode one...Enjoy!

Not BLAH

I have to say, the first ep totally lived up to my expectations. I love most of the designers and am still SUPER EXCITED to see what else they come up with. I agree with Hélène about Christian and Elisa. Based on the previews, I was positive that I would hate Christian. After this first episode, I’m surprised he didn't get on my nerves more, actually. He had a few good one-liners in there that lessened my hate. He is still obviously ridiculous and way way full of himself. And just because he admits that he’s conceited, doesn't make it any less annoying. Elisa, however, I have less tolerance for. Marthe kept saying, "she's a real artist" but I mostly thought she was just entertaining herself and showing off. She was totally obnoxious to me. I loved Nina and Heidi’s facial expressions when Elisa was explaining her “vision” and she kept making those crazy sound effects.

I looked through the designs on the website on Thursday and a few things surprised me. I thought Kit Pistol's outfit was actually really cute the way it was photographed, even though I wasn't really wowed by it last night. I really want to like Kevin, but his dress sucked in my opinion. Maybe it's just because I dislike the black pinstripe and red combo… I dunno. It reminded me of something from hot topic. But I'm still pulling for him! Rami seemed smug, but his dress was really good, so I guess it's semi-justified.

I'm sad that Simone had to go so soon. I liked her despite those gloves she wears in the opening credits. Agreed with Heidi about her color choices being interesting but that dress was totally sad looking and as Tim said, someone has to go first!

And Carmen. Those pants? Really?

Steven's little black suit was really cute to me. Probably one of the only things last night that I would actually wear. He may have to move up onto my team. I thought Marion's dress was BAD BAD BAD. I want to like him because he has my dream occupation (owning a flower shop and designing clothes) but he will have to step it up. I also really like Chris March's personality but his dress reminded me of upholstery. Maybe upholstery in a Sultan's palace, but still, like pillows. Victoria is my fav for now. Mostly because she seems smart and nice and modest. I want to be friends with her!

Lets see… what else. Oh, I actually hate Jillian. She may be my least favorite designer already. Not for her clothes, but I think for her voice. And maybe her hair.
Seriously. Can she look more surly?

"Her model was poo-ing fabric."

Ep1 Thoughts:

Jack is such a total dreamboat. I am kind of pissed his design didn't make it in the top 3 because I love the print he chose with the turquoise...love it, as in, I want to wear it right now but feel it is inappropriate office/November attire. Also, did anyone notice his dress had a bow at the neck that was like exactly the same as the bow on the design by the-one-that-looks-like-Jay-McCarroll? Which reminds me - HELLO, that guy is the new Jay McCarroll. He could go far. But how sad were you when everyone started running and he was the slowest?? I almost cried! (But I cried at the movie Angus. And also Hevyweights.) Anyway, back to my original point - either Chris or Jack is a copycat because their bows were exactly the same. Watch the rerun and you'll see what I mean.

Other contestants: Christian and The hippie lady (did they HAVE to show her doing yoga?) will probably make for some good tv, but they are bugging me already and it is only ep. 1...so they need to get auf'd by mid-season. I loved Rami's dress and want to buy it in every color and wear it every day of my life. Also I think I am going to like Jillian, but not because I like her designs or her personality at all, I just like the way she dresses - she is like the first ever PR preppy. And I know the 80's are back, but the 90's are not, and someone should tell Carmen that. I felt Victorya's dress was very sexy-cute and SATC, but so did not deserve to be in the top 3. I think Kevin's dress was not as cute as he is probably capable of, and he might be the sleeper here. And finally, I do NOT wanna be around when Sweet P turns into Mean P. Anyone who can say "Oh, that's from my days in an all-female motorcycle gang" is not someone you should mess with.

Thoughts on the judges: Nina, I've missed you! (I think I feel a special kinship with Nina because both of us lack the ability - or maybe it's the desire - to make our facial expressions hide our distaste.) MK, stop tanning. Sweet moses you are orange. Heidi - are you wearing a dress by Chloe Dao??? But...why??? Her fabric always has such a leftover-Christmas-wrapping-paper feel to it. No mas Chloe, Heidi! NO MAS! Oh hello Monique Lhuillier, would you mind designing my weddding dress please? I had no idea she was so gorgeous in real life, but I have loved her dresses forever because they are super girly and lacey and pretty. Love Monique, she can stay.

Oh, and although I think she will probably be out soon, I would still like to be referred to as Kit Pistol, as that is a totally freaking sweet nickname.

So, in summation:

IN!

OUT!

EH?

FIN.

Bloggers, Gather Round

Welcome to Project Stunway, the newest blog sounding auf on PR4. Check back every week for our unique & professional goss on Tim, Heidi, the designers and their crazy outfits.

Meet our writers:

Helene du Blonde was born in raised in the fashion capitol of the world: Dayton City, USA. She developed the propensity to spend all of her parents' money on clothes at a very young age, and diligently pursued this great passion throughout her youth. At the age of 14 she enrolled in the in the illustrious Chaminade-Julienne Academy of Art & Design - where she met Marthe Bonbon & Maud Vrais-Bleu. Marthe & Helene often congregated at L'école de Samedi - a specialized program for students whose desire to individualize their stifling uniforms often led to the accumulation of "dress code demerits." Helene fled this oppression for another fashion capitol, the state of Massachusetts, where her style steadily evolved into the now famous "sorority girl chic." Her current collection, on display in the District of Columbia, consists of sharp business pieces, an inordinate amount of joe's jeans, and several risque Halloween costumes. Helene du blonde - toujours de la mode.

Marthe Bonbon developed her sense of style at the young age of 4, when, encouraged by both her very cool babysitter, Sarah Fahrety, and the total freedom of the 80s, she began fashioning outfits that the generous could describe as "creative" and the not-so-generous as "retarded." Inspired in large part by Cyndi Lauper, Marthe found herself for many years up against the ancient, sexless, Catholic School aesthetic that Heidi Klum would no doubt judge as, "Blah." At the age of 10, Marthe & her family went on a one-year safari in South Africa. About her time there, Marthe has been quoted as saying, "Animal prints mean so much to me, obviously, because I have really seen these animals. I know them. They are wild." In 2001, the mean girls in her senior class voted her "worst dressed" - a fake superlative she has come to cherish if it meant she was her own person, no matter what ugly Abercrombie sweater was in that week. Currently, Marthe's closet consists of hundreds of dollars' worth of her sister's clothing, which could be snatched away at any moment when her sister sees how cute they look on her, as well as various fun, but unprofessional, pieces from TJ Maxx.

Maud Vrais-Bleu is a self-taught fashion critic and an avid reader of shopping and fashion magazines. Ideally, she would have had a very fashionable and wealthy grandmother to give her lots of fab vintage clothes and costume jewelry, but knows that even had this dream come true, vintage clothing was not made for women with the kind of "statuesque" figure Maud has. The jewelry would have been cool, though. Maud has a strong radar out for ugly, useless clothing, which she never buys. She currently works in the notoriously fugly world of the U.S. Congress. She also attended the prestigious Chaminade-Julienne HS, where she fell in love with navy. She and Helene worked together on the yearbook staff where they enjoyed sifting through the hundreds of photos and finding unflattering pictures of their enemies.

LOVE

Marthe,
Hélène & Maud
